Christmas and Feng shui
If you’re planning to decorate for Christmas, here are some valuable Feng Shui suggestions to enhance the energy in your home. Remember, you don’t need to implement all of these tips; choose what resonates with you the most. Understanding Room Areas with the Bagua Map To effectively apply these tips, it’s crucial to grasp how to identify various areas on a Bagua Map within a room. The Bagua Map encompasses nine key areas: Money, Fame and reputation, Love and marriage, Family, Health, Children and creativity, Skills and knowledge, Career, and Helpful People and travel. Each of these areas is present in every room. Placing the Christmas Tree Consider placing your Christmas tree in the Family or Money area, or even the Fame & Reputation area. Each area is associated with specific elements, with wood being linked to the Family and Money area. Consequently, these are great spots for your Christmas tree. The Reputation area, linked to the fire element, also supports wood, making it another suitable location. Using Red Decorations Use red decorations in the Fame and Reputation area, as well as the Love & Marriage area, as they are associated with these regions. In the Fame and Reputation area, consider incorporating triangular or fire-related elements, such as candles. Using Green Decorations Green decorations work well in the Family and Money areas, which are linked to the colour green. Adding a Wreath to Your Front Door Your front door symbolizes your Career and overall home energy. A seasonal wreath is an ideal addition, particularly during Christmas. For the most harmonious Feng Shui, opt for natural materials. Installing Bells on Your Front Door Bells on your front door serve both as decorative elements and as space-clearing tools, enhancing the energy every time the door is opened and closed. Displaying Children’s Holiday Art in the Children & Creativity AreaCelebrate your children’s artistic talents and the Christmas spirit by placing their holiday artwork in the Children & Creativity area of your home. Avoid Placing the Christmas Tree in the Middle of the Room Avoid placing your Christmas tree in the middle of the room, as it’s associated with the Health area, and wood elements can be destructive in this Feng Shui context. Avoid Singular Decorations in the Love & Marriage Area In the Love & Marriage area, refrain from using single or lone objects, art, or symbols. Instead, opt for pairs, like Santa and Mrs. Claus. Discard Damaged Holiday Decorations Remove damaged or non-functional holiday decorations from your home. This helps maintain positive energy and aesthetics. Keep Snowmen Away from the Fame & Reputation Area Avoid placing snowmen in the Fame & Reputation area, as the element associated with this area is fire, and water can be detrimental to it. Create Space for Decorating Clutter is a Feng Shui adversary. Ensure that surfaces and spaces are at least 50% empty to accommodate your holiday decorations. Make exceptions for mantels. Display Christmas Cards in the Family Area Show appreciation for both family and friends by hanging their Christmas cards in the Family area. Place Santa in the Helpful People & Travel Area In the Helpful People & Travel area, symbolizing the male head of the household, you can place Santa during the holiday season. Don’t Stress About It Most importantly, don’t stress about the process. Whether you decorate or not, and regardless of where you place your decorations, the key is to enjoy the festive season and your home. That, my friend, is the best Feng Shui of all.
